About C H (Bubba) Schlader

BubbaC H (Bubba) Schlader has been a small business owner involved in management and finance for over 30 years in the Northeast Florida area. A graduate of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, he began his career practicing as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with the international firm of Ernst & Young.

As an ElderCare Financial Planner, I have the opportunity to help working families in areas such as veteran benefits consulting and planning, Medicaid planning, and asset preservation. These clients deserve the same expert advice in preserving their assets that the wealthy enjoy. Unlike most other forms of financial planning or conventional estate planning - this type of planning often requires a cooperative effort between the legal community and the financial world. I work hand-in-hand with Elder Law Attorneys as needed. A Medicaid compliant plan can consist of certain types of legal instruments with powers that extend beyond a conventional will or statutory documents. On the financial side – it requires special training and knowledge to underwrite assets that will not jeopardize Medicaid eligibility.

In the veterans arena, I am a volunteer with the National Association of Senior Veterans / Veteran Support Center (VSC), a private 501(c)3 non-profit service organization that is not affiliated with any government agency. I find that working with senior wartime veterans and their families is very gratifying. The Veteran Support Center provides Veteran information services, casework assistance, counseling resources, educational seminars and workshops, and referral. Our challenge is making sure that every senior veteran and spouse get the benefits and services that they are entitled to. We feel that our veterans deserve nothing less. There is no fee charged to veterans for our services, whether consulting or planning.

And, as the VSC referred elder care financial advisor for the NE Florida area, I offer financial services to help senior veteran clients preserve assets in conservative instruments that will also serve to qualify them for the VA long-term care financial assistance that they have earned. This is accomplished while ensuring that a smooth transition into the Medicaid contingency is allowed for.

My wife, June and I have two grown children and two grandchildren. Activities of enjoyment include hiking, climbing, skiing, reading, and Christian financial stewardship ministry.
